Indications
Genta-solvine is very useful in treatment of respiratory tract infections that is accompanied by tenacious mucus as:
- Acute bronchial pneumonia.
- Acute and chronic bronchitis.
- Bacterial complications following viral pneumonia and parasitic lung infestations.
Warning & Precautions
Caution is required in case of renal impairment.

Dosage
For active ingredient:
Gentamicin: For Cats & Dogs: 5 mg/kg twice daily for 24 hours then once daily IM or SC.
For Horses: 6.6 mg/kg once daily IM.
Bromhexine: For Cats & Dogs: (1 - 2.5) mg/kg twice daily IM or SC.
For Horses: (0.1 - 0.25) mg/kg once daily IM.
For whole product:
For Cats & Dogs: 0.1 ml/kg twice daily for 24 hours then once daily IM or SC.
For Horses: 0.1 ml/kg once daily IM.
Adverse Reactions
- Vestibular or auditory disturbances.
- Nephrotoxicity may occur which is dose dependent.
Contra Indications
- Not used for food-producing animals.
- Avoid use in case of neuromuscular damage (as myasthenia gravis).
- Avoid use in pregnant animals.
- Avoid use during concurrent treatment with other drugs that may induce ototoxicity or nephrotoxicity.
